Art Show!

I'm pleased to announce my first gallery showing!

It’s pretty crazy it took this long to put my art in a show. A packed freelancing schedule and bit of the old ‘mindkiller’ maybe denied me the opportunity in the past. But not this time! A few friends encouraged me do this along with them (thanks Andy, Pat, Rob and Matt!) and I couldn’t be happier by the choice I made.

After a hectic work week (HHN opens this week, so crazy! Where did the year go?!) I dropped off my art Saturday afternoon just under the wire as us artist tend to do. Crystal was a big help, we’re a pretty good artist duo, and we had a nice time viewing the space at Art Space L.A. after the drop off.

Honestly, I’m happy I sucked it up and put the work in to be a part of this. It should be a lot of fun. So come visit us at the 3rd annual Themed Entertainment Pop-Up Art Show 2019 and celebrate the passion of my fellow group of talented artists!

I have a few beautiful canvas prints displayed along with a few originals. My art will also be for sale the night of the fundraiser. I would love to see you there. Info ticket link below.

  • Show starts Sept 11th and runs through the 20th

  • Ending with a Fundraiser on the 21st

  • Art Share L.A 801 E 4th Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90013

  • Tickets for the fundraiser at https://popupartshow2019.eventbrite.com

SIDENOTE: I got a mailchimp! (subscribe please!) to promote the show and I thought hey, let’s finally get around to linking one to this website. So click on over to the subscribe page and join our mailing list. I’m wrapping the movie up this year so expect some fun news and exclusive sneak peaks coming your way as we get closer to finishing the movie.

And of course, thanks for your continued support.

Last month Eli Roth held a contest for Instagram called the 15 second scare.  So I went out and shot something in a day and edited in another and came up with something pretty neat. My Fiance' was production designer and scream queen on this one and it was a lot of fun to make. Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

It's that time of year again where the goblins and ghosts are given license to walk the earth and visit our neighbors homes in search of tricks... or tricks if you leave them wanting. I love this time of year and my Fiancé Crystal and I wanted to show you how much we appreciate our friends and coworkers by putting together our first annual Halloween video card. We had so much fun making this that we are hoping to make one every year. So enjoy this weekend eat a bunch of treats, watch out for any ghouls looking for revenge, and enjoy our short film 'The Candy Killer’ and Happy Halloween!

This past week we just wrapped principal photography on my next film The Amazing Mr. Moji. Toughing out some of the hottest days of the summer, we soldiered through and filmed something special with the help of our DP and just all-around great guy Mark Putnam (No Way Jose), our awesome crew, and the stars of our film Yousef Abu-taleb (Ray Donovan), Carly Jones (The Guild) and Joy Regullano (Supernatural) and many more. Produced By Yousef Abu-Taleb and I, we are super proud of this one and will be sharing updates on social media over the next several months as it goes through the many stages of post production. Check out our FB and insta for updates.

New Website

Welcome to the new website! I'm hanging my hat here at squarespace for a bit since I didn't feel like coding in Dreamweaver for next two weeks, and this sites clunky templates will only have me pulling my hair out for just a day.

After capping off a long gig at Universal Studios with 3 days at comic con I'm spending some time off upping my game a bit and finally putting up a spot where you can view my work.  You're welcome;) I took a bit of time off after finishing up 'Whiskey Sour' starring the ever-so-lovely Gigi Edgley, and I'm back hard at work. I'm in the midst of preproduction on my next short film 'The Amazing Mr. Moji' that's shooting in August.  It's the first thing I've directed in a while that's written by me so I feel I can bring a lot more of my twisted sense of humor to it than my previous work. You're gonna love it.

We have an amazing cast leading this thing, Yousef Abu-Taleb (Bite Me, Ray Donovan) and Jordan Lawson (Wasteland, Carrie 2: The Rage) We still have more casting and crewing up but we're off to a good start.

Also I'm in the middle of wrapping up editing a commercial for Garmin that I shot with my fiancé' and Creative Director Crystal Garrett, that I'm really digging so I plan to have that up soon.  My big announcement I'm excited to share is I'll be directing my first indie feature and if all goes as planned we start filming towards the end of the year. So excited for that one.

Well I just wanted to say hi and give you a place to come and check out all the current news on my page and feel free to add me on Twitter and Instagram, you can see some of my art on there but mostly pictures of my dog Mo. Yup mostly that.

Cheers,

Lucas James Culshaw
